I have been a member of the Richard III Society,
which aims to promote discussion and research into King Dick. The debate still goes on as
to whether he was responsible for the death of the Princes in the Tower, but as time goes
on the debate still rages. There is no doubt that the Tudors turned
his reputation from a just ruler into a hunchback tyrant, as depicted by
William Shakespeare. Although if it was a modern-day crime I am sure
he would be one of the main suspects, it is important to note that Henry
Tudor had more to gain by their deaths than Richard. Richard was
already the king, so killing the princes would just give him a little
extra security; Henry Tudor was claiming the English throne, and the
princes had a much stronger claim than Henry. |
