In their retirement they lived at St Albans and New Southgate before returning to Annie's native Anglesey.  After that they moved to Welwyn Garden City, where Kennedy died on 10 March 1995, only two and a half years before their seventieth wedding anniversary.

The photo shows them on their sixtieth wedding anniversary, with the telegram from Her Majesty the Queen.  As staunch royalists this was a very proud moment for them.

Annie died in Welwyn Garden City on 11 Oct 1997
